VIDEO: “Something Very Dangerous & Wrong Was Going To Happen” Says Wilson-Raybould As She And Philpott Speak Following Expulsion

Both say they are standing on principle.

Jody Wilson-Raybould and Jane Philpott have spoken on video for the first time following their expulsion from the Liberal Caucus.

In their remarks, both Jody Wilson-Raybould and Philpott said they are standing on principle and for what is right.

Wilson-Raybould also stood up for her decision to record her conversation with Michael Wernick, noting that “something very dangerous” was going on.

She also pushed back against Trudeau calling the recording “unconscionable.”

“Talking about unconscionable, it’s unconscionable to tread over the independence of the prosecutor. It is unconscionable not to uphold the rule of law, and I have always maintained that stance. I think it is very alarming that people are focusing on the actual recording of the tape as opposed to the contents of the tape. The contents of the tape, in my view and the view of many people that have reached out, speak for [themselves].”

She added, “I said in any other circumstance it would be inappropriate. I was protecting myself. I knew something very dangerous and wrong was going to happen.”
