Canada is set to fall behind comparable countries.
A chart by The Economist Intelligence Unit shows Canada set to lag behind many developed nations in terms of the vaccine rollout:

You can see that Canada is more in line with countries in South America, the Middle East, and Asia in light green, while most of our European allies and the United States are moving ahead.
Trudeau government trying to evade responsibility
Unsurprisingly, much of the coverage in the media has focused on supposed provincial government failures in vaccine distribution. Yet, while provincial leaders deserve criticism for many things, the vaccine rollout isn’t one of them.
Rather, this is a clear failure of the Trudeau federal government.
While the Liberal government has been bragging about all the vaccines they ordered, what actually matters is delivery, and delivery has lagged badly.
Some provinces have even run out of doses, showing that federal procurement of vaccines isn’t keeping pace with the speed of vaccinations.
This is in large part because the Liberal government focused on buying vaccines from abroad, rather than boosting Canada’s domestic production capacity. Despite the many billions they’ve spent, Canada’s facilities capable of manufacturing vaccines haven’t been utilized, leaving us in the position of being reliant on ordering from countries that can produce them, pushing us further and further to the back of the line.
The responsibility for Canada falling behind is not on the provinces, it lies strictly with the Trudeau government.
