With the NDP pretending they aren’t propping up the Liberals, and with the Liberals imposing inflationary policies while pretending to be concerned about inflation, honesty surrounding the financial challenges facing Canadians is few and far between.
Among Canadian politicians, one of the few who has spoken openly and honestly about both fiscal and monetary policy has been Pierre Poilievre. Even before the CPC leadership race, Poilievre put out many YouTube videos in which he went into great detail about how government spending and central bank policy has damaging impacts on the purchasing power of Canadians by devaluing our money.
Poilievre’s videos – which often resembled university lectures given the melding of historical events and current policy impacts – were a rare instance of a Canadian politician attempting to educate the public, rather than simply pandering to ignorance.
And Poilievre is continuing the educational approach as CPC leader.
In the video below, Poilievre slams the NDP for the hypocrisy of pretending that greed only exists in the private sector, noting that the NDP ignores the reality of “government greed.”
“They think that a human being is an angel when they work for the state, but a demon when they work in the private sector, as though greed is a part of human nature only in the free market. But when that same person who works for a company then transmits over and works for a bureaucracy or as a politician, all of a sudden they are purified of all greed and transformed into an entirely different being.”
Poilievre’s discussion of human nature, and the effective exposure of the NDP’s hypocrisy is well worth watching and sharing:
