NDP Shuts Down Debate On Conservative Motion To Have Top Trudeau Aide Testify On Election Interference

The NDP is “once again doing the bidding of this Prime Minister” said Conservative MP Michael Cooper.

Conservative MP Michael Cooper’s motion to have Katie Telford – Chief of Staff to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau – testify on China’s election interference, has been blocked.

The NDP voted with the Liberals to shut down debate on the motion.

Cooper slammed the move:

“For the THIRD time, the Liberals and NDP MP Peter Julian colluded to block Justin Trudeau’s top advisor from appearing before committee to testify under oath on what the Prime Minister knows about Beijing’s election meddling.”

The NDP appears to be playing a double-game:

They are publicly supporting an inquiry, knowing that public opinion demands one.

At the same time, they are seeking to broaden the inquiry so much that it becomes almost meaningless, and block key PMO officials from testifying at Parliamentary Committees.
