Given The Choice Between Defending Michael Chong Or Defending China, The Liberals Have Chosen The Latter

Sickening.

We are now three days removed from Justin Trudeau’s attempt to throw CSIS under the bus. He claimed CSIS never passed on information that a Chinese diplomat had threatened Conservative MP Michael Chong.

That was a lie.

Trudeau’s own national security advisor has said that CSIS passed the information to her, the Privy Council, and relevant ministries.

We have also watched as the Liberals hem and haw about whether to kick out the Chinese Communist diplomat. They have mused about how ‘serious’ it is, claimed it’s ‘complicated’ (even though a foreign diplomat can be expelled for any reason), and have clearly telegraphed to China that their intimidation efforts are effectively influencing the government.

And now, they’re even trying to discredit Michael Chong:

“Attempts by two Liberal MPs to throw cold water on claims the Chinese government intimidated relatives of a member of parliament are part of larger efforts by the party to save face by discrediting the accusations, a Conservative MP said on Friday.

Grande Prairie-Mackenzie MP Chris Warkentin told the National Post that comments made Thursday by Liberal MPs Kevin Lamoureux and Mark Gerretsen in the House of Commons are part of a larger scheme by the Liberals to sow doubt in the claims of Wellington-Halton Hills MP Michael Chong, who discovered Monday that members of Chinese intelligence service were targeting him and his family as part of Beijing’s ongoing efforts to meddle in Canada’s affairs.

“The plan of the Liberal Party is to push out this misinformation — this conspiracy theory — to discredit Chong and to exonerate the prime minister,” Warkentin said on Friday.”

In a sickening move, Liberal MPs Kevin Lamoureaux and Mark Gerretsen both tried to discredit Chong:

“During an opposition motion debate earlier on Thursday, Lamoureux implied Chong had known about the intimidation for years, but chose not to disclose it.

“The question is, has the member actually raised it with any member of their caucus?” Lamoureaux said.

“Has he brought it up in the chamber, has he done anything on the issue?”

During the same debate, Liberal MP Mark Gerretsen likewise attempted to cast doubt on Chong’s claims.

“The statement of fact is this: The prime minister first heard about this incident earlier this week when it was reported in the media, as did everybody else,” he said.

“The member from Wellington-Halton Hills actually had a defensive briefing on this two years ago, so he knew about this when it actually happened.””

They’ve chosen to side with China

Let’s be completely honest about what is happening here: The Trudeau Liberals faced a choice. They could side with Michael Chong and take action to kick out the Chinese Communist diplomat who threatened his family, or they could side with Communist China by allowing the diplomat to stay and try and discredit Chong – exactly what China wants to see.

They chose the latter.

Nobody forced them to make that choice.

But the choice shouldn’t surprise us.

Justin Trudeau’s pro-China attitude has long been evident, and given what seems to be a clear attitude of hatred towards Conservative Canadians, Trudeau was also going to side with China rather than side with Canadian Conservatives.

Trudeau has overseen an erosion of Canada’s Western values of individualism, free markets, and free speech. He tried to align us more and more with China, putting our national security at risk. He has sought to emulate their system of Communist information control.

And now, he’s chosen to throw our security institutions under the bus and have his pathetic ‘just following orders’ cronies discredit a Canadian Member of Parliament whose family was targeted by the Communist state.

Trudeau has chosen his side, and it’s not the side of Canadians.
