Barbaric hatreds and vile anti-Semitism doesn’t ‘enrich’ Canada.
In response to surging anti-Semitic hatred in Canada, Justin Trudeau launched into an odd rant that included a claim that Canada “does diversity better than just about anywhere else.”

There are a few very disturbing things here.
First, the fact that Trudeau is trying to downplay anti-Semitism with appeals to ‘diversity’ implies that he sees the barbaric anti-Semitic attitudes of non-Western countries as somehow on a level moral playing field with Western Civilization.
Second, it shows that Trudeau doesn’t distinguish between the ideas that made Canada a successful country and the ideas that have mired so many foreign countries in long-term conflict, poverty, and dysfunction.
And third, it shows that he doesn’t really understand diversity in the context of a Western country.
A main foundational idea of the Western world is that individual freedom, limits on state power, and religious freedom are ideals that can be embraced by people from around the world. Respect the rights and freedoms of others, and your rights and freedoms will be respected in turn.
That is contingent however on people actually embracing those ideals.
There is a huge difference between someone coming from another country to enjoy the freedom provided by the West, and someone coming from another country to try and turn the West into the place they just left.
Sadly, many are trying to do the latter, and it is completely incompatible with how our country is supposed to be.
Seeing people on the streets of Canadian cities calling for ‘intifadas’, chanting anti-Semitic slogans, and intimidating Jewish business isn’t the kind of ‘diversity’ we should ever want in this country.
And again, this is what Trudeau doesn’t understand.
Diversity is not inherently good or bad. Newcomers can make a country better if they embrace good ideals. Newcomers can make a country worse if they embrace the primitive and backwards hatreds of the place they left.
To pretend this isn’t the case, and to pretend that diversity is positive no matter what could very well lead to the end of Canada as a free nation if we don’t wake up fast.
