Canadians have made it clear that we want less immigration. Trudeau and his ilk are ignoring us.
Amid the discussion of Canada’s insane immigration levels, it can be easy to forget one of the most egregious aspects of what the Liberals are doing to this country.
They are showing total contempt for democracy.
Over and over again, Canadians have made it clear that we want less immigration.
That was true years ago, with Canadians expressing opposition to planned Liberal immigration hikes.
That was true last year, as Canadians again expressed opposition in multiple opinion polls when asked about yearly immigration increases.
And it’s even more true today, with polls showing an even more dramatic shift against Canada’s absurd immigration levels.
Of course, the Liberals want people to think this means Canadians hate immigrants, but that is absolute BS.
Most Canadians aren’t angry at any individual immigrant.
And since Canada is already a country full of people who are either recent immigrants or the recent descendants of immigrants, it stands to reason that a huge number of immigrants are opposed to surging immigration as well.
But the Liberals are ignoring all of this.
They keep ramping up the numbers, no matter what Canadians say.
This is extremely anti-democratic, and it’s time we start saying that.
The Liberals have no mandate whatsoever to increase immigration like this. They have no legitimacy to do so.
And so, when the Liberals inevitably demonize those who call for cutting immigration, we have to turn it around on them and expose the Liberals for their assault on our economy, their assault on our social cohesion, and their assault on our democracy.
