Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre Calls For Trudeau To Send 83,000 Surplus CRV7 Rockets To Ukraine

Ukraine has requested the weapons, which are currently slated for destruction.

Justin Trudeau’s disgraceful attempt to turn support for Ukraine in Canada into a partisan issue has backfired spectacularly.

Trudeau and the Liberals have been confronted on their own pro-dictator record, including their pro-Putin energy policies, the year-long delay in sending a promised air defence system to Ukraine, and their decision early in the war to return a repaired turbine to Russia that helped fuel Russia’s energy profits and thus fuelled their war machine.

Over and over again, Trudeau’s rhetoric hasn’t matched his actions.

In fact, at the exact same time Trudeau was attacking the Conservatives on Ukraine, the Liberals & NDP both voted against a Conservative motion to make it easier for Canada to provide weapons to Ukraine.

And now, Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre is again challenging Trudeau to take some real action to help Ukraine by calling on Trudeau to transfer 83,000 surplus CRV7 rockets to Ukraine – weapons which Ukraine has requested and which Canada is currently slated to dispose of:

“Our Conservative Leader @PierrePoilievre is calling on the Liberal government to send 83,000 surplus CRV7 rockets to Ukraine.

These were specifically requested by the Government of Ukraine from Canada.

Conservatives will always support Ukraine.

Poilievre has it right here.

Given that Russia is working together with China and Iran to weaken and attack the Western Free world from multiple vectors, and given that helping Ukraine hold back Russia serves the interests of Canada and our allies, it is essential that we do everything we can to provide Ukraine with the weapons it needs to win.

It is also great to see Poilievre calling for Canada to replace all donated equipment to ensure our own severely depleted Armed Forces are replenished. As the world gets more dangerous and the risk of a broader war rises, we must build up our strength and build up our military industry so it can be rapidly ramped up to a full war footing if needed.

Now is the time for Canada to show strength both in supporting our democratic allies in the fight against authoritarian states and in making sure that our military power is significantly expanded. Clearly, Pierre Poilievre understands this, while Justin Trudeau does not.
