Conservative Motion To Toughen Sentences For Car Thieves Voted Down By Liberals & NDP

The Liberals & NDP seem uninterested in actually solving the problem of surging car thefts.

In recent days, the Liberal government has tried to give the impression that a flurry of action is taking place to address surging car thefts.

Of course, this newfound interest in the issue comes far too late for many Canadians.

Years of soft-on-crime Liberal policies have increased the incentive for people to break the law, and law-breaking has surged.

Unfortunately, the Liberal claim to be addressing the issue is belied by their refusal to support ideas that would actually address it.

In the House of Commons, the Liberals & NDP voted down a Conservative motion calling for tougher penalties for car thieves:

The Liberals can hold all the meetings on car theft that they want.

But until they actually reverse course on the soft-on-crime policies that have led to such a large surge in crime, anything they say will be meaningless.
