They’re Anti-Semites

No amount of pandering will ever be enough for those who hate Jewish People and think Israel shouldn’t exist. Politicians like Justin Trudeau need to wake up and recognize this.

Some of the so-called ‘pro-Palestinian’ groups that targeted Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto are now desperately trying to pretend nothing happened.

They claim they just happened to walk by the hospital on their way to another destination.

They claim they didn’t even know the hospital had deep connections to the Jewish community.

They want you to think it’s all just a big misunderstanding!

Amazingly, even as they backtrack, they make it clear what the ‘protests’ are really about as Dakota Jeffery-Petts astutely noted:

So, the claim that these ‘protests’ aren’t directly targeting Jewish Canadians is obviously BS.

What’s really happening is that the mask has fully slipped, and the public is increasingly seeing the ‘pro-Palestinian’ ‘protestors’ for what they really are:

Anti-Semites.

This is devastating for the ‘protestors,’ because their legitimacy rests on the fiction that they are simply opposing the government of Israel.

There are many Canadians who can be persuaded to support the actions of Israel’s government, or oppose those actions, but there are far fewer Canadians (though still far too many sadly), who are willing to go all in on anti-Semitism.

And so, in order to try and maintain their ‘broader appeal,’ the protestors are backtracking.

But we cannot let them get away with it.

From the start, these protests have been about anti-Semitism.

If they really just disagreed with Israel’s government, the protestors wouldn’t have chanted slogans calling for the destruction of Israel, wouldn’t have praised Hamas, wouldn’t have supported the Houthis, wouldn’t have targeted a hospital, wouldn’t have targeted a Holocaust Museum, wouldn’t have protested outside Jewish schools, wouldn’t have targeted businesses owned by Jewish Canadians, wouldn’t have targeted businesses with names that ‘sounded Jewish,’ wouldn’t have pushed to politically destroy a B.C. MP who expressed admiration for Israel’s ingenuity, wouldn’t have targeted the office of the Deputy Opposition Leader Melissa Lantsman, and wouldn’t be trying to push Jewish Canadians out of public life.

Remember, these so-called ‘protests’ started immediately after October 7th, before Israel had even responded to Hamas’ horrific attack.

There has been a clear effort to intimidate Jewish Canadians, intimidate politicians, and intimidate the authorities.

It is a play for power, an effort to assert dominance and destroy the taboo against anti-Semitism through intimidation and the not-so-subtle threat of force.

If Canadians give in to that intimidation, then not only will be abandoning the Jewish community, we will be abandoning all the values upon which Canada is based.

Some political leaders in Canada seem to understand this.

For example, Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre has been steadfast in his support for Israel and the Jewish community:

By contrast, Justin Trudeau has taken ‘pandering’ to a new level.

His weakness has only deepened his unpopularity, as he tries to be all things to all people and thus ends up being nothing to everyone.

What Trudeau either doesn’t understand or simply ignores is that no amount of pandering to anti-Semites will be enough.

The anti-Semites want Jewish Canadians to be pushed out of public life.

The anti-Semites want Israel to be destroyed.

The anti-Semites want Canada to be a dystopian theocratic state like Iran.

In short, what the anti-Semites want is something that no free nation should ever want to give them.

And so, we have to stop seeing these protests as ‘diverse viewpoints’ as Justin Trudeau claims, and instead see it as part of a surging anti-Semitic movement that must be defeated.

Anti-Semitism has no place in this country, and we all need to make that as clear as we possibly can.

Sometimes, there is no nuance. Sometimes, there is a right, and there is a wrong.

This is one of those moments.

Standing with the Jewish community – and standing against the anti-Semites – is the right thing to do. Full stop.
