Canadian-Made Parts Found In Russian & Iranian Drones & Missiles

This is what happens when one side – the New Axis of Iran, Russia, China, and North Korea – understands that they are at war with the West, while the West refuses to admit it.

As I’ve said before, the Western world has a problem of will.

We have the technological capability and the economic power to militarily overwhelm the New Axis of China, Russia, Iran and North Korea.

We are simply choosing not to utilize that power.

While the New Axis acts in a way that demonstrates their understanding that they are at war with the West, as they build up their militaries, invade/threaten sovereign countries, and flood our populace with propanda designed to keep us divided, complacent, and fearful, the West continues to go about business as usual.

We keep hoping that if we just pretend hard enough that everything is fine, then all the threats we face will just go away.

But this head-in-the-sand attitude is deeply dangerous.

And our enemies aren’t hesitating to take avantage of our weakness and naivety.

Division & distraction

Canadians across the political spectrum have expressed strong support for Ukraine. In the House of Commons, it is one of the few things that most MPs agree on.

In fact, the Conservatives have consistently pushed for Canada to provide more military aid to Ukraine.

Yet, amid a difference of opinion on a carbon tax in the updated Canada-Ukraine free trade agreement, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has sought to turn support for Ukraine into a partisan issue.

He has evidently decided to pretend he is running against pro-Putin elements of the U.S. Republican Party, rather than the pro-Ukraine Conservative Party of Canada that actually exists in Canada.

And it would seem that he’s spending so much time focused on generating divisions where none exist, that he and the Liberal government have overlooked the fact that Canadian-made components are finding their way into drones, missiles, and other weapons/equipment being used by Iran and Russia – including in Russia’s brutal attack on Ukraine

According to the Globe & Mail, Canadian-made parts have been found in Iranian Shahed-136, Shahed 131, and Mohajer-6 combat drones. Canadian-made parts have also been found in Russian Orlan-10 combat drones, Russian X-47M2 hypersonic ballistic missiles, and Russian 2S5 Giatsint-S self-propelled artillery guns.

Now, this does not mean Canadian companies are co-operating with Russia. Russia has gone to great lengths to procure parts for weapons through complex and often-hidden means.

However, many components found in Russian weapons are not subjected to export controls, and the Canadian government has clearly been negligent in stemming the flow.

Thus, while gestures like the one below are nice, it’s also important that we get the cold hard substance right (like stopping Canadian parts from being used in Russian weapons that are killing Ukrainians), not just the emotional appeals:

All of this points to the ongoing problem with our peacetime mindset.

These are not normal times.

The free world faces a massive and escalating threat from revisionist powers who seek to dominate large swathes of the planet and want to destroy our way of life. The regimes controlling Russia, China, Iran, and North Korea despise the idea of individual freedom, despise democracy, and they are determined to control the future of humanity. If they win, we lose.

The more time we in the free world spend being divided, complacent, and naive, the more we grow weaker as the New Axis grows stronger.

So, the Liberal government should spend less time trying to divide Canadians on Ukraine, and more time ensuring Canadian-made parts aren’t being used by the Russian forces who are waging a brutal war of aggression against Ukraine.
