Pierre Poilievre Says “Canada Stands With The Ukrainian People Fighting For Their Freedom Against Vladimir Putin’s War Of Terror”

Ukraine is widely supported across the political spectrum in Canada, showing some things transcend political divisions.

As the New Axis of Russia, China, Iran, and North Korea seeks to divide us from within by utilizing ‘useful idiots’ to stop us from confronting their evil, those divisive efforts are failing in Canada.

In a sign of the enduring strength of the values of freedom and democracy, support for Ukraine remains robust across the political spectrum.

This was shown today, on the second anniversary of Vladimir Putin’s brutal unprovoked invasion of Ukraine.

Leaders across the country, in all parties, expressed strong support for Ukraine, including Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre:

“My message to the Ukrainian community rallying today in Hamilton and across the country:

Canada stands with the Ukrainian people fighting for their freedom against Vladimir Putin’s war of terror.

Slava Ukraini.”

“It’s been two years since Ukraine woke up to the evil of an unprovoked full-scale invasion from Vladimir Putin.

With unshakeable resolve and determination, Ukrainian people have fought back. They haven’t given up, and neither will we.

Canada will always stand with Ukraine in the fight for freedom & democracy against Putin’s tyranny.”

While anti-Ukraine, pro-Putin voices are loud on social media – because many of them are Russian bots – in the real world most Canadians strongly support Ukraine.

In fact, the Conservatives have been pushing for Canada to provide more military aid to Ukraine, and many Conservative MPs and Senators have been among the most vocal and principled voices regarding the need for Canada to stand with Ukraine and stand against Putin’s evil aggression.

This is something Canada must build on.

We are at a very dangerous moment, a moment in which we need more national unity and need to be focused on standing up for freedom, standing up for our values, supporting democratic nations like Ukraine and Israel that are fighting for their lives, and strengthening our armed forces to ensure our own national defence and ensure we can contribute to our alliances.

Pierre Poilievre’s principled stand in support of Ukraine, and his strong support for Israel demonstrates that he has what it takes to lead Canada at this very perilous time for ourselves and our allies.
