WATCH: Canada ‘Naive, Complacent, And Entitled’ On National Defence Warns Dr. James Boutilier

“We have become, sadly, a nation of sleepwalkers.”

Dr. James Boutilier is a former Special Advisor at the Maritime Forces Pacific Headquarters in B.C. and worked for 24 years at the Royal Roads Military College in Victoria as the head of the History Department and then the Dean of Arts.

Suffice it to say, he knows what he’s talking about regarding Canada’s national defence.

Which makes his recent remarks at a Defence Committee hearing deeply sobering.

Dr. Boutilier stated Canada has become “a nation of sleepwalkers,” and said we are “naive, we are complacent, and we are entitled” regarding our national defence.

He also called for a sense of urgency, noting that “we are at war and we should be acting and planning accordingly,” while slamming the Defence Policy updated recently released by the federal government.

I urge you to share Dr. Boutilier’s remarks as widely as possible. We need all Canadians to be aware of the fact that Canada is being left almost defenceless in an increasingly dangerous and unstable world:

“Just this week, we found out that 48% of the army’s vehicles are unserviceable and unfit for immediate use. Instead of providing the necessary funds to maintain what few vehicles our armed forces do possess, Trudeau Liberals decided to cut $1 billion from the defence budget.

Listen as Professor James Boutilier calls out the Liberals Defence Policy Update for being ‘a profound embarrassment’ that is full of untruths and promises that will never be fulfilled.”
