A bit late?
As part of their sudden awakening to the fact that things in Canada aren’t going so well right now, the Liberals appear to have realized that per capita GDP and productivity are actually important.
Treasury Board President Anita Anand says the government will begin ‘studying’ productivity growth amid concerns over Canada’s per capita GDP – which is lagging behind many of our peer nations:

A lost decade
While it’s nice that the Liberals have finally started to grasp at least a bit of reality, it’s far too little, and far too late.
Canada is facing a lost economic decade, with almost nothing to show for the past nine years aside from immense amounts of debt.
The Liberals simultaneously imposed anti-growth climate policies while ramping up immigration to unsustainable levels. This has resulted in a decline in our standard of living, one that won’t be reversed with a government study.
The Liberals have had nearly a decade to prove they can generate strong per capita GDP growth.
They failed.
