Jamil Jivani’s Friend JD Vance Calls Canada “A State”

The U.S. Vice President said the remark was a “Freudian slip.”

U.S. Vice President JD Vance, a noted friend of Conservative MP Jamil Jivani (who is best known for taking a “blame Canada” stance while refusing to criticize the Trump Administration), referred to Canada as “a state” while speaking in Maine:

While Vance referred to his comments as a “Freudian slip,” his remarks are a continuation of the Trump Administration’s attempt to undermine Canadian sovereignty. Clearly, the Trump Administration is trying to cast Canada as hostile in an effort to distract from the ongoing war in Iran, looming U.S. debt challenges, and the damaging impact of Trump’s tariffs on consumers.

This latest disrespect towards Canada is also a further reminder of Conservative MP Jamil Jivani’s ties to Vance. Jivani has repeatedly blamed Canada for the trade conflict and has referred to Canadians’ justified anger towards annexation threats as an “anti-American hissy fit.” It appears both Jivani and Vance have little respect for Canada’s sovereignty.
