A freight train fell off a bridge close to Field, B.C.

Three CP Rail crew members have died after a freight train derailed near the Alberta-B.C. border.

The accident happened close to Field, B.C., around 1 am.

According to a report, Greg Edward of the Teamsters Canada Rail Conference said, “Everybody I’ve spoken with both within the company and within the union is just devastated by this. It’s just terrible, terrible news. I got the call in the middle of the night and it’s one of the worst calls that you want to take.”

The train fell about 200 feet off the bridge at the Upper & Lower Spiral Tunnels.

According to the union, the three deceased individuals are a conductor, a locomotive engineer, and a trainee conductor.

The Transportation Safety Board has launched an investigation.

Let’s keep the families of those who died in our thoughts and prayers.
