Conservative Memberships Surge By 100,000

Almost 270,000 people are eligible to vote in the upcoming leadership race.

The Conservative Party has seen a large surge in memberships since 2020 began.

A total of 269,469 people are members of the party, an increase of 100,000.

The increase was widely expected, as leadership candidates were desperately signing up new members in an effort to gain an edge in the race.

Still, the party says their membership is larger than ever before.

Also, it’s important to note that based on the popular vote results in the 2019 election, the Conservatives are the most popular political party in Canada, and represent the most Canadians.

According to the party, Alberta, Nova Scotia, Quebec, and Newfoundland and Labrador saw the biggest membership increases.
