Canadian Icon Alex Trebek Has Passed Away At Age 80

The Sudbury-born Trebek hosted Jeopardy! for 36 years.

Alex Trebek, the beloved Canadian icon who hosted Jeopardy! for 36 years, has passed away.

He was 80 years-old.

Trebek had been fighting pancreatic cancer for sometime.

The Jeopardy! Twitter account shared the sad news:

“Jeopardy! is saddened to share that Alex Trebek passed away peacefully at home early this morning, surrounded by family and friends. Thank you, Alex.”

People have been sharing clips of Trebek following news of his passing:

Trebek will be fondly remembered by millions of Canadians, and many more millions around the world.

Very sad news indeed! I was truly hoping that he would somehow be cured of this Horrendous Disease with a breakthrough in Medicine, but unfortunately it did not happen for Alex Trebek and Millions more dying from Pancreatic Cancer!
