REPORT: Canada To Do Worse Than Other Advanced Economies Amid High Debt Burden

Turns out there are consequences when the federal government imposes an anti-growth eco-radical agenda on the nation.

With some of the world’s most advanced economies poised to grow in 2024, Canada is set to lag behind.

That’s according to a report by Oxford Economics.

According to their projection, while the world’s advanced economies grew 1.6% in 2023, Canada grew just 0.9%.

In 2024, they predict growth of 0.9% for advanced economies, and a recession for Canada, with growth of -0.6%.

Now, this is all bad enough of on the face of it.

But when you consider our rapid population growth, the situation is truly dire.

Canada’s population is growing faster than advanced countries. This means our economic growth is due entirely to there simply being more people in the country.

Of course, this isn’t really ‘growth’ at all, since most Canadians are getting poorer.

And this is on top of the massive debt burden faced by Canadians compared to our peers, as noted by Oxford Economics:

“A moderate recession will be followed by a muted recovery. Economic activity will continue to contract through mid-year, as soaring debt service costs from mounting mortgage renewals push indebted households to deleverage and unaffordability extends the housing correction. Consumers and businesses will gradually regain the willingness and ability to spend in H2 2024, but they will likely remain on edge as interest rates only slowly ease amid ongoing uncertainty.”

OE also predicts that surging immigration will continue to “strain the housing supply,” and while they predict that newcomers will add to growth over time as they settle, this obviously won’t happen unless the government cuts immigration – something they show no sign of doing.

All in all, we are seeing what happens when a government deliberately seeks to reduce our standard of living through the imposition of radical climate policies while simultaneously flooding our country with unsustainable levels of immigration.

As long as those extremist policies remain in place, and as long as we are sabotaged by our own government, Canada will continue to be left behind.
