“Speaking from the heart”? Are you sure about that?
In a truly stunning moment at the ArriveScam hearings, GC Strategies vice president Darren Anthony was asked by Conservative MP Garnett Genuis – who has been doing a great job holding the Liberal government accountable – if he committed to standing by and believing his business partner Kristian Firth.
In response, Anthony clearly and undeniably looked at another screen and started reading a pre-prepared response praising Firth.
Now, there’s nothing wrong with that.
People read pre-prepared remarks all the time.
But what happened next was so absurd that it left Genuis – and probably all of us who watched it – temporarily speechless.
Genuis asked Anthony if he had read the remarks, or if the remarks came from the heart.
Anthony – AFTER CLEARLY READING PRE-PREPARED REMARKS – claimed he was speaking from the heart:

Watching this, you can see why this whole scandal happened in the first place.
It would have been so easy to just admit what everyone else saw: He was reading the response.
But nope.
ArriveScam really demonstrates the truly staggering incompetence and disregard for taxpayer dollars from the Liberal government.
