“Carbon Tax Election”: Conservatives To Move Motion To Declare Non-Confidence In Trudeau Government

If the Liberals don’t “Spike the Hike,” a non-confidence motion will be moved against the government.

With a vote set today on “spiking” the upcoming April 1st carbon tax hike, the Conservatives have announced that they will move a motion declaring non-confidence in the Trudeau government if the hike isn’t stopped.

Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre – currently leading by a massive margin in national polls – made the announcement today:

This is a smart move by the Conservatives, and matches their smart move on pushing for a vote on ending the April 1st carbon tax hike.

While the NDP is pretending to care about affordability, their actions in propping up the Liberals shows the exact opposite.

The Conservatives are forcing the NDP to go on the record. If the NDP opposes “spiking the hike,” they fully own the carbon tax increase and all the damage the carbon tax is doing to the pocketbooks of Canadians.

And if they vote against the non-confidence motion, they confirm that they are nothing but an extension of the incredibly unpopular Trudeau Liberals.

This leaves the “affordability” lane completely open for the Conservatives and will continue to show they are the only party pushing to make life more affordable for the Canadian People.
