BREAKING: Maxime Bernier Invited To Participate In Official Leaders Debates

Debates Commissioner says Bernier meets the factors for inclusion in the debate.

People’s Party of Canada Leader Maxime Bernier has been invited to participate in the Federal Leaders debate.

There will be an English language debate on October 7th, and a French language debate on October 10th.

It originally appeared Bernier would be excluded from the debates, but the Debates Commissioner has conducted “further evaluation” and determined that Bernier and the People’s Party meet the requirements for inclusion in the debate.

Here’s what the commissioner said:

“With the benefit of more recent information,  I am of the view that the PPC has attracted a significant number of party members, has established a notable presence in the media and on the political landscape and, based on recent polling data, has achieved a reasonable chance of success in more than one riding,” says Johnston. “All of these factors together enable the PPC to satisfy two of the criteria established in our Order in Council.”

You can read the full decision here.

Bernier’s inclusion in the debates will widen the range of views Canadians are able to hear and consider, as Bernier has challenged establishment political thinking, particularly on immigration, Canada’s relationship with the United Nations, foreign aid, and much more.

The debates just got a lot more interesting.

Looking forward to watching this debate, and what Maxime Bernier and the PPC have to say to Canadians.
The PPC have the best platform out of all the federal party’s, and this should be very interesting.

the elite must have sufficiently paid off all the debate questioners and moderators

Spencer, what I fear is that Max Bernier/ Scheer will result in a victory for the Liberals, Scheer needs to bring Max back into the fold, otherwise I can see a Liberal victory

Oh boy now honest Canadians can see Andrew Scheer being lied about by five parties instead of four in the French debate for the Laurentian elites, and only lied about by four parties in the English debates for the Laurentian elites, while Andrew Scheer stays, for all of Canada, honest and wasting his time saying “that is false” “that is untrue” to the other parties, and some people think he is weak for being really smart. honest, polite, fair, uniting and caring for all of us Canadians. The Conservatives have the best platform for Canadians to get ahead, truthfully.

I hadn’t planned on watching the “debates” but now will tune in (with copious amounts of popcorn & beer). Let the games begin!!

Like Bernier or not, he is persistent and his platform has attracted innumerable Canadians who were (are) tired of the ‘same old, same old’ of our political system. It may well be that time in the history of Canada that another party has been able to attract enough people that it has forced the entrance of Bernier to make his move to become a legitimate political party in Canada.

Did you happen to look at what he is polling at? He is polling enough to give the liberals a minority government. Hmm…
It is not his time. There is too much at stake for Canada right now.

Someone finally came to their senses !
#LetMaxSpeak is now a reality.

The only reason for Bernier’s inclusion in these debates is, Trudeau wants to try and paint both Bernier and Scheer as the ones responsible for all of his failures , scandals and lies. He will try and deflect blame by constantly saying we can’t go back to the bad old Harper days. Otherwise, Trudeau would be left with just his good looks and no strawman/fall guy to use to avoid giving any answers , coherent or otherwise. It will be interesting to see just how many times Trudeau stumbles for words, uhms and ahws and “tries to reorder his words”,… Read more »

Shawn I always agree with you but in this instance. These lieberal arranged debates are a set up by the lieberals Trudeau will know all the questions and will have pre written and rehearsed answers. so will sound authentic as long as he does not get high on something previously.

I’m very pleased that all the hard work we have been doing at grassroots level has helped the commissioner see that the PPC is a viable political party that has the attention of many Canadian voters and we deserve to have our leader at the debates
