With Anti-Semitism Continuing To Surge, Liberal MP Salma Zahid Issues Statement Backing South Africa’s Demonization Of Israel

Liberal MPs pandering to anti-Israel misinformation know exactly what they’re doing, and it is a disgrace.

South Africa is one of the most dysfunctional countries in the world.

It is beset with hatred, as the failing government scapegoats both African migrants and the White minority within the country – scapegoating that has resulted in significant violence.

Corruption has run rampant, and the country often can’t even achieve the bare-minimum of keeping the power on, with near-constant blackouts across the nation.

And – like many failing states – South Africa’s government has chosen to embrace countries like China and Russia, siding with autocracies against the world’s democracies.

Now, South Africa has gotten even more desperate to distract from their own failings, so they’re trying to latch on to the surge in anti-Semitism.

South Africa is accusing Israel of ‘genocide’ in a filing at the International Court of Justice, a move that has been accurately denounced by the U.S. as “baseless” and “without merit.”

Indeed, as I wrote here, there is zero evidence to back up the claim being made by South Africa and others, and the fact is that Israel is in fact preventing the genocide of their own population.

Obviously, South Africa’s government knows this.

But – like many failing extremist governments on the far-left and far-right – South Africa is resorting to anti-Semitism in an attempt to change the channel.

A revealing time

Since October 7th, many political leaders and governments have shown the world who they really are.

Some – like Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre – expressed support for the Jewish community when it was easy and then continued to express that support even as it got more controversial, thus demonstrating true leadership and strength of character.

Others – like Justin Trudeau – expressed support for the Jewish community when it was easy, and then started trying to play both sides when it got controversial, thus demonstrating gutless cowardice, a lack of leadership, and weakness of character.

Trudeau’s weakness, and his willingness to pander to anti-Semitism has been a key part of emboldening the rabid anti-Semites.

And now, with anti-Semitism in Canada surging, Liberal MP Salma Zahid has made the horrendous move to back South Africa’s attack on Israel at the ICJ:

This is a total disgrace.

On Twitter, W. Brett Wilson said what many Canadians are surely thinking: Salma Zahid should resign:

But of course, she won’t.

This is the Liberal plan.

They let these statements be made so they can to go those who hate Israel and hate Western values and whisper “we’re with you,” while staying vague in other statements to try and pander to everyone.

But when the battle is between a democratic state like Israel and a genocidal terrorist group like Hamas, there should be no “other side” for the government of a Western country like Canada. Yet, Western Values are just the latest in a long line of principles Trudeau is willing to abandon.

Sadly, at a time when the Jewish community needs all Canadians to be pushing back against absurd disinformation and demonization against Israel, the Trudeau Liberals are all too willing to pander to the worst attitudes in our society in the desperate pursuit of votes.
